A Process You Can Rely On

Gaining access to leading British private schools can often seem daunting and exhausting. Our goal is to ensure that this process is easy on you and your child, whilst also maximising your child's chances of acceptance to the school of their first choice.

Once we have conducted our academic assessment and agreed on the choice of schools, we will take control and guide you through the entire process. This means that:

we will be the point of contact with the schools and liaise with them directly to learn more about the entrance procedures and identify their selection process;

we will put together a plan to maximise your child's chances of admission by helping them with practice for the entrance examinations and interviews;

we will arrange and organise any required logistical support for your family to visit prospective schools and accompany you to offer any necessary help and guidance.

"I wanted to say a big thank you for facilitating our son’ s receiving an offer from the senior school of our choice despite us applying well outside the school’s deadlines. Your thorough knowledge and deep understanding of the selection process, schools criteria and requirements together with the fact that you’ve been able to recognise our son’s natural talent and abilities, significantly enhanced our son’s chances and have been fundamental in our son securing a place."

"Alyona was instrumental in our daughter’s successful completion of her A level studies. As a mentor she was incredibly intuitive in identifying the path that our daughter was considering following, and in finding multiple solutions to make sure that she achieved her dream course at university."

"We were exceptionally pleased that Alyona was supporting and guiding our son during his three years at the boarding school in the UK. She had a very open and friendly approach and cultural awareness which enabled her to quickly build a rapport with our son and gain his trust and respect. In addition to closely monitoring our son’s academic performance, and supporting his academic and emotional welfare, she dealt with a great number of pastoral and practical matters and was always on hand with her advice demonstrating a unique resourcefulness in identifying solutions for every situation."

"Thank you so much. I remember my years in secondary education in the UK with great fondness. I was incredibly lucky to have had you by my side throughout my time at boarding school. Up to this day I always remember the words of wisdom and advice that you gave me, and you are always with me in my heart wherever I am."

"Thank you for the dedication and hard work in supporting and helping our son through his education in the UK. Your unique ability to see the bigger picture and to offer timely and expert advice, often giving several different options as to how to maximise academic results and optimise his chances of success helped us parents to make the right decisions at the right time which ultimately allowed our son to realise his dreams and potential. You gave us details of opportunities which we would not have known about and which contributed to his success at school and beyond. "

Frequently Asked Questions

AT WHAT AGE CAN MY CHILD START SCHOOL IN THE UK?

Usually, school entrance is open for the ages of 7, 9, 11, 13 and 16 although entrance at other ages is sometimes available.

WHAT ARE THE SELECTION CRITERIA?

In addition to being a motivated and willing student, the child needs to have a good command of English, well-developed interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a sense of humour.

WHAT ARE DIFFERENCES AND BENEFITS BETWEEN DAY AND BOARDING SCHOOLS?

Day schools are where pupils come home each evening and return to school in the morning. Boarding schools are where pupils remain at school for the duration of the academic term, returning home for the half term break and some long weekends. Some schools offer flexi-boarding options where the pupils stay a few nights a week at school and the remainder at home.

Boarding schools give pupils the opportunity to demonstrate independence and individuality, immerse in school life and participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. They help develop strong organisation and social skills in a disciplined environment.

WHAT ARE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SINGLE GENDER AND CO-ED SCHOOLS?

Whilst there is no strong scientific evidence that there are clear benefits of single gender education however, there is some support for the premise that single gender schooling can be helpful especially for certain outcomes related to academic achievement and more positive academic aspirations. The decision as to whether a child goes to a single gender education establishment is child specific and any decision has to be made based on the family’s views and beliefs.

HOW WILL MY CHILD BE SUPPORTED AWAY FROM HOME, EMOTIONALLY, PHYSICALLY AND ACADEMICALLY?

There is a strong pastoral support network built over a long period of time, which includes various members of school staff, housemaster, matrons, personal tutor, who all have substantial training and experience in dealing with a full range of all pupil needs.

We offer a Guardianship service to provide additional support for pupils and to monitor their emotional, physical and academic welfare.

HOW WILL WE KNOW WHICH SCHOOL WOULD BE BEST SUITED FOR MY CHILD?

Each school offers prospective students an opportunity to attend an Open Day, which will give you and your child a good indication whether or not this school meets your requirements.. It is always advisable that, where possible, families try to visit schools personally to get the feel of the school and it’s ethos. You can also assess the school’s location, facilities, and what extra activities are offered. You will also have the opportunity to meet and speak with teaching staff and pupils, which will give a good idea how happy and well supported your child would be at that particular school.
